Who we are

NAFRA is a social platform operated under United Kingdom law. NAFRA determines how and why personal information is used to operate the platform.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].

[02]

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use NAFRA. This may include:

  • Account information such as your email address, username, display name and authentication information.
  • Profile information such as your bio, avatar, banner, status, profile customisation and other information you choose to display.
  • Content you create, upload or share, including posts, media, messages, reactions, stickers and other social content.
  • Social information such as friendships, requests, group membership and interactions with other users.
  • Activity and presence information used to provide features such as online status, activity indicators and NAFRA's social discovery features.
  • Information relating to Circles, including room participation, roles and moderation activity.
  • Connected-account information when you choose to link a supported third-party service.
  • Technical and security information such as session information, device information, IP address and security events where necessary to protect NAFRA and its users.
  • Reports, appeals, support requests and information provided when contacting NAFRA.
[03]

How we use information

We use personal information to provide and maintain NAFRA, authenticate accounts, display profiles and content, enable social interactions and provide features you choose to use.

We may also use information to secure the platform, prevent abuse, investigate reports, enforce our rules, provide support, improve reliability and understand how features are being used.

We do not treat information you provide for one purpose as permission to use it for any unrelated purpose.

[04]

Legal bases for processing

Depending on the information and the reason it is being used, NAFRA may rely on different lawful bases under UK data protection law.

  • Contract. Some information is needed to create your account and provide the NAFRA services you request.
  • Legitimate interests. We may process information where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate and improve NAFRA, provided those interests do not override your rights.
  • Consent. Where a feature specifically asks for consent, you may withdraw that consent where applicable.
  • Legal obligations. We may process or retain information where required by applicable law.
[05]

Profiles & public content

NAFRA is a social service. Information you choose to make public may be visible to other users and, depending on the feature and your privacy settings, may be visible to people who are not signed in.

Think carefully before publishing personal information. Other people may be able to save or share content they can see.

[06]

Messages & Circles

NAFRA provides direct messages, group conversations and live social features such as Circles. Message content is stored as necessary to provide messaging functionality and is protected using encryption.

We do not describe NAFRA messaging as end-to-end encrypted. Access to information may occur where necessary for security, abuse prevention, moderation, support, legal compliance or the operation of the service.

Content or behaviour reported to NAFRA may be reviewed by authorised moderation processes or personnel where necessary to investigate the report.

[07]

Service providers

NAFRA uses infrastructure and technology providers to operate the service. These currently include:

  • Neon for database infrastructure.
  • Plesk-hosted infrastructure for application hosting and operation.
  • Cloudflare for network security, performance and related infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare R2 for object and media storage.

These providers may process information on NAFRA's behalf where necessary to provide their services. Their processing may be subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, NAFRA will use applicable legal mechanisms and safeguards where required.

[08]

Security

NAFRA uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information. These include account authentication, session protections, encryption, security controls, abuse prevention and moderation systems.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You should use a strong password, protect your account credentials and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

[09]

Data retention & deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide NAFRA, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce our rules and meet legal obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

NAFRA intends to provide an in-product account deletion system. When introduced, an account scheduled for deletion will first enter a 30-day deactivation period. Signing back in during that period will cancel the scheduled deletion.

Until that feature is available, you may contact [email protected] regarding deletion or your data protection rights.

Some information may need to be retained for longer where required by law, necessary for security, fraud or abuse prevention, or required to establish or defend legal claims.

[10]

Younger users

You must be at least 13 years old to use NAFRA. People under 13 must not create or use an account.

Because teenagers can use NAFRA, we aim to explain privacy and safety information clearly and operate moderation and safety measures designed to protect users.

If we become aware that an account is being used by someone who does not meet the minimum age requirement, we may restrict or remove the account.

[11]

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights over your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or to object to certain processing.

Where processing is based on consent, you may also have the right to withdraw that consent.

YOUR RIGHT TO OBJECT

Where NAFRA relies on legitimate interests, you may have the right to object to that processing. We will consider the circumstances and applicable legal requirements.

To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify that the request relates to you before acting on it.

You may also have the right to make a complaint to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are concerned about how your personal information has been handled.

[12]

Changes to this policy

NAFRA will evolve, and this policy may change as our features, practices or legal obligations change.

When we make material changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this policy and provide additional notice where appropriate.
